Hours Worked on Website Breakdown
Hours worked on website means hours spent on the computer. Work hours do not include the time I spend thinking about the website while on the train, eating, showering or laying in bed. Hours worked means I am typing on the keyboard or reading something on the monitor.
This also applies for blog posts which are mostly created in my head throughout the day. Hours spent on blog posts is only the time neccessary to transfer from brain to computer.
Working on The Website Even When You Are Not - A Warning About What Happens To The Mind
Having a site is not something that you do a few hours a day or week. It is always in your head. You cannot get rid of it. Always thinking about what can be added, what can be improved, what should be removed. Always worrying about the latests statistics – why are there less visitors this week, why is nobody clicking on the ads.
And if things are going well then be ready for a tsunami of mental activity. Your mind will be consumed by the website. Every minute away from the computer will seem like a waste of time. It is hard to think about the dirty dishes when there is a sudden and unexpected flurry of activity at your website. What is the point of clean dishes when actual, real people are visiting your site. Washing the dishes will never be the same – before creating your website you never had such a meditative and focused expression on your face while scrubbing grime off pots and pans.
