Sell Products On Your Website

Besides advertising and affiliate programs, another way to make money online is by selling products. Something that you have that you can sell. It could be a your homemade foot slippers or an ebook about making homemade foot slippers.

Create a website about homemade foot slippers. Put up pictures and articles about their merits. How great they are on those cold winter nights. How they are made from tough goat skin – will not be damaged by dogs teeth. Put up a picture of you sitting by the fireplace with your feet up on the coffee table. Behind you a window showing the cold winter day. Your dog walking toward you with your slippers in his mouth.

Do some online marketing and people will visit your site and buy the slippers. They log into their PayPal account and send you money and their delivery address. You make a new pair of slippers and send.

It really is that simple – if you can get people to visit your site. The only problem is that you need a product. Something that you can mass produce and people want to buy.

This website is an effort to try and make money online - in any way possible. One of the ways to make money online is by selling products. The problem was that I did not have a product to sell. So I created the PAJ. It is really nothing more then a pickle jar with air in it. Actually not just air, but air from Prague, Czech Republic. So it is kind of special. And I should mention that it has a cool label.

I created the PAJ because I wanted to be able to go through the process of selling a product online:

  1. Making a webpage that sells the product.
  2. Making the order form, and the auto email order confirmation.
  3. Creating a Merchant PayPal account to receive money.
  4. Track the costs and revenue of selling a product online.

Will anybody buy it? I doubt it. But just in case, I pre-made three of them. One of which I sold - to a friend.

The great thing about most products is that the profit margin is usually high. Especially for unique products that cannot be bought elsewhere. It might cost you 5 dollars for the materials and a hour of work, but you can sell the product for $30 dollars. The whole Internet is your market place. There are millions of shoppers out there. There is a good chance that somebody out there wants what you have to sell.

The PAJ is more of an experiment then a real attempt to make money via product sales. It exists just so that I can say that this website will try ALL methods of making money online. Of course, if you want to buy 100 of them and open up a specialty PAJ store in your town then I am sure we can work something out. But just to avoid any possible disappointment, I have the capacity to make 100, but not 10,000. So please, no orders greater then 100 units.

To compare and show how profitable selling products online is: The PAJ sells for $21.00. It cost about $5.00 for materials and takes about 20 minutes to make. So without including labor costs each sale earns $16.00 profit. Now imagine that you did buy 100 of them from me. That would net me $1600 dollars. That is a lot - especially when you consider how many advertisement clicks that is. This website gets around 40 cents per click. So to make with ad clicks as the PAJ sales I would need 4000 visitors to click on my ads.

There's lots of money to be made by selling products online - as long as you have a product that people buy.
