Here are the methods used to increase the amount of money that this website makes. It is not a list of what you should do (although you could). It is a list of things done to this website. If these actions help or hinder - the data will show.

10/25/2009 Created quality one way backlinks by writing guest posts. If you want search engine traffic you need keyword anchored high page rank backlinks.

So I wrote some guest posts on high page rank blogs in my niche. I kindly asked the blog owner to backlink to my website using the keywords: 'how this website makes money'. Hopefully by collecting enough of these quality backlinks this website will start showing up in search results for these keywords. The goal is to show up in search results for 'how websites make money' (and all it's close variations).

Examples of my guest posts can be found on dailyblogtips.com, blogsessive.com, problogger.com, davidrisley.com. These are all blogs with a Page Rank of at least 4 – quality one way backlinks.
9/22/2009 Created a few highly optimized SEO pages. These are pages specifically created to get traffic from search engines.

Using the Google Keyword Search Tool I found phrases that are searched for the most by Google search users. Then I created a pages using the keywords in the title, images and text. Hopefully, in time, Google will start sending traffic my way for these keywords.

 Search engine traffic is the best kind of traffic for AdSense traffic. They are targeted visitors that are looking for specific information and thus are more likely to click ads.

I created only a few highly SEO'd pages because they are harder to read then the other pages. SEO pages use the keywords a lot more then the other more reader friendly pages. So by having only a few SEO'd pages hopefully I will not lose my regular readers who I depend on for backlinks.

Some examples of highly SEO'd pages are how to register a domain name and how to get website hosting

Besides using the keywords in the title and in the text, I also created an article in Ezine Articles with a keyword anchored backlink pointing directly to these pages. Google loves backlinks with the keywords in the anchor text.
8/12/2009 Created an affiliates page. Basically a page with products that I ecommend to my visitors. Visitors looking to make their own website that makes money. Besides making money with ads, I also want to make money by selling affiliate products. Most visitors to this website are looking for ways to make money with a website, so why not try to sell them products that will help them do just that.

Affiliate sales are great because you do not need to create, maintain and sell the product. You simply need to send people to the website selling the product. Most of the time the is a sale is made you get 50% of the sale price. Not bad for simply sending people to a website.
3/16/2009 Created charity page. Polls are used so visitors determine how much and to whom a percentage of revenue gets donated.

UPDATE: Removed this page - total failure. People voted but did not care enough to purchase products from Amazon.

 The chairty page was created for three main reasons.

1) To gives visitors a ability to participate.

2) To get visitors to buy Amazon products via this website.

3) To donate money to chairty.

Of course the overall purpose is to create traffic and revenue.
2/17/2009 Integrated WordPress into the website. Two benefits. 1) Better experience for visitor. Consistent look and feel between website and blog. 2) Since blog is now part of website I can include Ads on blog and consider it as the website's revenue
2/16/2009 Removed Right Panel Text Ad. It seems that the more text ads you have the less each click is worth. For text ads, less is more.
1/31/2009 Replaced banner ad of left panel with a text ad. After a month of comparing the banner ad on the left panel with those of the text ad on the right panel, it is clear that text ads make more money. The text ad maked 4 times more money then the banner ad.
1/27/2009 Removed Goggle AdSense unit ad under nav bar. Was making very little money. Please see Increase Revenue By Removing Ads
1/17/2009 Created Blog The website is good for static information and data. The blog is good for frequently updated commentary about the data gathered by the website. Since it gets frequently updated visitors 'should' return to view updates. Returning visitors means more traffic.
1/9/2009 Added RSS feed and Google FeedBurner. Using an RSS feed helps keep visitors coming back. With FeedBurner I will be able to keep track of how many people suscribe to the RSS Feed.
1/7/2009 Made my site public. Added website signature to forum. This should increase my traffic from the 1 or 2 visitors daily visitors I have been getting. From now on will be actively promoting site.
12/31/2008 Applied for Google AdSense (was approved 01/01/09). Put text advertisement panel on right side of website, under main navbar, picture banner on left side. After testing I found that Google AdSense had better and more advertisments then AdBrite. So I removed AdBrite and now have only AdSense.
12/26/2008 Added a product Prague in a Jar to website. Living in Prague gives me the ability to sell this unique product.
12/23/2008 Created a Paypal Business account. A account to which visitors can send money when purchasing products from this site.
12/22/2008 Added a Add This social networking and bookmarking button. According to addthis.com "AddThis helps your visitors create a buzz for your site and increase its popularity and ranking."
12/21/2008 Registered this website on www.alexa.com. Alexa keeps track of traffic to this website and ranks it as percentage of total internet traffic. It also provides a graphs that used on the data page
12/20/2008 Created an affiliate account with amazon.com. Put amazon advertisement panel on right side of website. Added books that I have read and recommend. This is an affiliate source of revenue. Every time visitors click on book and purchase from amazon I get paid.
12/18/2008 Created an affiliate account with EZ Web Hosting. This is an affiliate source of revenue. Every time visitors click enter on ez web-hosting link from this website and create an account I get paid.
12/17/2008 Submitted website to search engines: google.com, yahoo.com, msn.com via www.orangesubmit.com This should speed up the process of my website getting spidered by the major search engines. This in turn will ensure that this website will appear somewhere in search results - at this point probably at the bottom.
12/16/2008 Submitted website to www.dmoz.org/. An open directory that should increase traffic to my site. Also websites like www.alexa.com use this directory as a source for gathering information on new websites.
12/7/2008 Created an account with Ez-Web hosting. A web host is required for any website. The only issue is choosing which which web host. See Domains and Hosts
